We have, so far, managed well. And, aside from a couple of meetings and one massive trip to QFC early on, we’ve pretty much stayed home and only ventured out for walks and trips where we knew we’d be alone. We are trying to help some local businesses by getting take out. Stanwood cupcakes are really good! And they deliver, touch less, to your house!
Adam’s last in-person meeting was in Sultan. I doubt we reopen April 27, but we can hope.
We had bought a ‘house’ for Neomi at Costco for her bday but hadn’t set it up yet. After work early in the first week Adam, Avalise and Neomi started. Directions said it should take 2 people about 2 hours. Whatever.
Neomi was eager to get started!
It took some time....
It took at least twice the advertised 2 hours, but Neomi was buzzing the entire time. It’s a bit chilly to spend lots of time out there right now. We’ll see how much she uses it as it warms up.
Avalise and Neomi have done some key baking so far! Including rice krispee treats, chocolate cake and banana bread. Yum!!!
Lunch outside at the ‘house’.
We did go to the state park one sunny afternoon. Lots of others did too. We found a quiet spot and avoided people. We needed it! And just in time. All of the parks closed two days later.
Sometimes you just need to throw stuff into the sea. And practice the javelin they won’t let you because school, and track, is closed.
We may have had chocolate cake for breakfast once. And worn out pj’s the whole day. But who’s telling!
Neomi’s daily checklist is the key to everyone’s sanity. THANK YOU Nyda for taking the time to create this life saver!! Neomi is pretty great about following her daily routine.
It starts with going outside to check the weather and then drawing the picture in the calendar.
Sometimes we all work downstairs. But we now have two upstairs offices too. Neomi is working in her lessons here. She has writing, math and then a ‘free choice’. Generally some coloring. Or whatever we can get her to do to occupy some time and keep her busy! She loves it!
Neomi was a teacher one day and read to her class. Bailey loved the lesson!
Neomi is starting to make her own lunches.
We start each day with yoga or mediation. And then exercises. Neomi has some fun exercise ideas from her learn to skate program. Neomi has missed a month of swim and skating. She gets a little antsy at times.
We try to have some fun!
Notes to delivery people (who arrive wearing plastic gloves and masks!) are now normal, I guess?!
Yummy cupcakes!!
By the end of the day, Neomi is exhausted. Here she fell asleep two nights in a row ‘reading’ the Berenstain Bears.
