A Big Day

Neomi had a big day today. We started with her last 30 minute ice skating lesson. She ‘graduated’ from snowplow 1 to  snowplow 2! After lunch and a walk around Everett, she geared up and played hockey for the first time. It took her five minutes to take the ice, but once she did, she didn’t want to leave. Ever! Lots of players and coaches helped her as she played for nearly an hour. She even ‘scored a goal’. And loved ‘playing goalie’ too! Mind you, we had to tape all of her gear on so it wouldn’t fall off. And her pants still did! 😂

Then it was off to Seattle to see Senator Elizabeth Warren speak in Seattle. Mom and Dad really like her! We waited in line for nearly 2 hours! Neomi was pretty great and gave us some hugs as we slogged along.

When we got there to the front, the rally was full.  So they opened up, and we went to, an overflow room. Adam saw a well-lit flag and a riser in the back side. So we hung out there. And were told she’d come speak here first for a few mins! In an instant we went from out of the action in the back room to the front row!

Needless to say, we didn’t stay for a selfie with her, but instead ended our fun day with a nice dinner.

Neomi was tired and silly by the end. But Seattle is still gorgeous at night!

  1. All of my friends have proclaimed that Neomi playing hockey is the most important event to have happened in our lifetimes, and we are all extremely proud of her
