We had a very excellent trip to California this long weekend. We spent three nights at Aunt Caren and Uncle David’s amazing place in LA and then two nights at a pretty cool, and a touch quirky, Airbnb in San Diego.
Our first field trip was to the Long Beach Aquarium with Alex, Lisa, Jonas and Reece. Neomi was able to touch the Ray. And also shark eggs!

Alex and Lisa introduced Neomi to penny souvenirs. She’s now obsessed!
Back at Caren and David’s we played games, did a puzzle and roamed outside.
The next day we went to the Skirball Center. I didn’t realize Emily and Craig were married here. What an interesting place. Some crazy cool exhibits that were very interesting and very progressive for adults. A fascinating look at Jewish life in the US. And a crazy cool, mostly areligious, Noah’s ark exhibit for kids.
They also had multiple crafts areas to keep kids busy. Neomi made a hat! Which she promptly lost interest with.
We then went to the Santa Monica pier for Adam’s nostalgia mostly. We had a fun walk to the end and back. And just beat the rain!
Adam and Ellen both think Nanny lived in the building that is now blue. We could be wrong, of course.
We had dinner at a yummy place where the owner won Top Chef a few years ago. The ice cream was ‘Neomi Approved’!
