Family Tree

We went to a clan Galbraith reunion last night in Richmond, BC (just south of Vancouver). We had a great time. And, Richmond has an intense Asian influence. I saw more Chinese stores/ shops than Canadian/ Anglo ones. It was very cool. 

The story behind the change in spelling of the name, is long, twisted and we're not 100% sure it's even true. 

The party, though was Scottish, through and through. 

We listened to some cheeky toasts poking fun at the men and the women. And one other funny thing Neomi can relate to!

Grandpa and Neomi enjoyed watching the music and dancing. Until Neomi decided to cry for no reason at all! And yes, she's in a different outfit. Oh. My. 

Neomi loved dancing with mommy. She was in 7th heaven looking at the band and swayin to the music. Grandma and grandpa are in the back right dancing too!

Neomi enjoyed grandma time! A cool side note, on Grandma's side of the family, Neomi can trace back relatives all the way back to the Mayflower!

Nyda has two cool things on. First, her necklace has the Galbraith crest in it. Her brother got that for her in Scotland. He also bright back a stone from the ruins of the Galbraith castle/ lands around it. They are the earnings pinned to the Galbraith Tartan on Nyda's waist. Very cool!
